No endless searching for a new sequence. No wondering how to bring philosophy into your teaching. No more collecting ideas that never quite connect.
Instead, you have a framework you can return to again and again.
One that helps you find meaningful themes in everyday human experience, connect the subjects you've studied, and bring fresh inquiry to the practices you already know.
Whether you're newly qualified or have taught for decades, discover a way to make your teaching more manageable, more connected and more meaningful.
From weekly classes to workshops, retreats and themed programmes, discover new possibilities for the teaching you already love.
The style is yours. The framework gives you the thread.
Making Yoga Make SENSE – The Journey Within is a 25-hour CPD learning journey bringing yoga philosophy, mythology, the five senses, nervous system understanding and movement together.
Make the teacher’s job easier.
Make the student’s experience richer.
A familiar class. A meaningful thread.
Touch: the Boundary Keeper
Ever been in a class where the mats feel too close together? Found yourself beside somebody’s feet? Or reached for your favourite pyjamas after a difficult day?
Your students know those experiences. That gives you somewhere familiar to begin.
In my framework, touch is the Boundary Keeper, connected with Anāhata through the theme of boundaries.
“What do you notice about the space and contact you want today?”
That question can run through familiar practice:
- Notice contact between feet and floor.
- Explore reaching out and drawing in.
- In Warrior II, bring attention to the skin along the outstretched arms.
- Pause to notice preferences about space and contact.
You choose the postures, pace and language. Students have room to encounter the inquiry through their own experience.
The philosophy becomes part of the practice, carried through movement, attention and reflection.
The sequence carries the body.
The inquiry carries the teaching.
From inspiration to your next class
How The Journey Within becomes part of your teaching.
1. Begin with a human experience
Belonging, boundaries, change, fairness, finding your voice. Something your students may recognise in their own lives.
2. Find your thread
Explore that experience through the Five Soldiers, chakra Battlefields, nervous system understanding, philosophy or mythology.
3. Bring it into your teaching
Keep the asana and teaching style you already love. Add sensory inquiry, a story, a reflection or a practical tool.
4. Take it further
Develop that same thread into a series of classes, a workshop, a retreat or a themed programme.
The forthcoming Teacher’s Path, being added progressively from October 2026, will provide worked teaching examples, class-planning templates and practical guidance for applying this approach.
Bringing the threads together
Yoga philosophy. The chakras. Anatomy. The nervous system. How does it all fit together?
The Yoga Sūtras. The Bhagavad Gītā. The chakras. Anatomy. The nervous system.
So often, we study these subjects separately. Another course, another certificate, another set of notes.
But the people walking into our yoga classes don’t arrive in separate subjects.
They arrive as whole human beings.
The subjects may be taught separately.
The human being experiences them together.
Making Yoga Make SENSE brings those threads together.
My framework connects them through human experience and the five senses, so philosophy, mythology, nervous system understanding, sensory experience and movement can become part of one coherent inquiry.
Save time
Spend less time searching for class inspiration and trying to connect disconnected learning.

Bring together knowledge you’ve already invested time and money in.
Teach with greater depth
Explore the connections through a meaningful thread students can experience.
Our journey begins on a battlefield.
Not with a yoga posture. Not with a chakra.
With the Bhagavad Gītā and a question that remains remarkably relevant: what happens when we find ourselves facing the challenges of being human?
From the Gītā's battlefield to the everyday experiences of modern life, we begin exploring how we receive information, interpret our experiences and make choices.
Along the way, we encounter the Five Soldiers of the senses, the nervous system, the stories and teachings of yoga, and eventually the six chakra lenses.
Everything connects.
Because the battlefield may look different today, but the human experience is still at the centre of it.
You don’t need previous philosophical knowledge. First, encounter the learning for yourself through Śravaṇa — receiving, Manana — reflecting, and Nididhyāsana — working with understanding through experience and practice.
My contemporary teaching metaphors are distinguished from the established yoga teachings and sources we study.
This is Teaching to the Senses, Through the Senses: considering how people receive our teaching and how sensory experience becomes a route into inquiry.
One framework. So many teaching possibilities.
Experience the learning for yourself, then develop your own teaching ideas through your understanding and creativity.
- The six chakra BattlefieldsThemes to explore through classes, workshops and retreats.
- The Āhāra Sensory KitchenExperiential exploration of what we take in through our senses.
- The Five SoldiersSensory inquiry and practical tools to bring into your teaching.
- Yoga philosophy and mythologyStories and themes that connect teaching with human experience.
- The Practice LibraryFurther inspiration for developing practices.
Develop your own teaching from your learning. Core course materials remain for personal study; only specifically designated Teacher’s Path resources carry permission for adaptation and classroom use.
A whole new way to teach the chakras
What if the chakras weren't something to fix, but lenses through which we explore human experience?
Perhaps you've taught chakras for years and are looking for fresh inspiration. Or perhaps you've never felt comfortable with the language of blocked, balanced or deficient chakras.
I've developed a different approach using six lenses:
Existence. Belonging. Fairness. Boundaries. Voice. Meaning.
Imagine two people having the same conversation.
One might experience it through the lens of Belonging:
Do I matter here? Am I included?
The other might experience it through the lens of Existence:
Am I secure? Is my place here threatened?
Same conversation. Different human experiences.
Neither person needs to be labelled as blocked, imbalanced or deficient.
Rather than diagnosing students or suggesting they need fixing, these lenses invite us to recognise and explore human experiences, reactions and responses.
For yoga teachers, this opens up new possibilities for classes, workshops, retreats, movement inquiries and meaningful conversations.
If you enjoy the chakra model you already teach, you can add these lenses to your existing approach.
And if, like me, you've moved away from the blocked-and-balanced model altogether, they offer a different way to teach a familiar subject.
Not another way to fix your students. A different way to understand the people in front of you.

Jackie Quayle
Twenty-three years of asking how this becomes useful.
I've been teaching yoga for more than 23 years, with over 10,000 teaching hours behind me and experience owning and running three yoga studios.
My journey began with a three-and-a-half-year British Wheel of Yoga diploma. I'm a Registered Yoga Elder, and my continuing studies have taken me from the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies to anatomy, neuroscience, psychology, philosophy and mythology.
I'm the founder of Jackie Quayle Yoga Academy, registered with Yoga Teachers Together CIC.
I've studied with teachers including Leslie Kaminoff, Gary Carter, Jason Crandell, Noah Mazé and Sianna Sherman. I've explored the human body through anatomy and cadaver study, and the philosophical traditions of yoga through years of reading, questioning and learning.
But throughout all of it, one question kept returning:
How does any of this help the person standing, sitting or lying on a yoga mat in front of me?
I've taught thousands of classes, planned workshops, trained and supported teachers, and spent years finding ways to bring complex subjects into ordinary, accessible yoga teaching.
I began to notice that we often study anatomy, philosophy, the nervous system, movement and human behaviour as separate subjects. Yet the people who come to our classes don't experience themselves in separate parts.
They arrive with their senses, their experiences, their histories and whatever life has brought them that day.
Making Yoga Make SENSE grew from more than two decades of asking how we might teach the whole person.
The Journey Within brings that exploration together into a framework that connects ancient teachings with contemporary understanding and, most importantly, shows how those ideas can become useful in the classes we teach.
I don't want teachers to teach like me.
I want them to discover how to teach more confidently, creatively and meaningfully as themselves.
Course feedback
What people studying The Journey Within are saying
“I love it. The work with the Five Senses is inspired and incredibly well put together. I have learned so much already and have started to bring some of the framework to my students. Their feedback: WOW.”
Tracey — Yoga Teacher
“The Journey Within is frikkin brilliant. Jackie has such a vast knowledge of yoga philosophy, mythology, anatomy and, most importantly, an understanding that we’re humans with crazy emotions, energies and needs. She shares from the heart, with a real passion for making complicated subjects feel accessible and relevant. Whether you’re a yoga teacher wanting to add depth to your teaching, or simply someone wanting to explore yoga further, I really can’t recommend it enough.”
Dianne — Yoga Elder and Teacher of 20 Years
“This course is STUNNING. I am blown away with the knowledge, professionalism and the absolutely beautiful handouts.”
Lorraine — Student and Yoga Teacher
“The way Jackie is able to bring the chakras alive and into everyday life is mind-blowing. I struggled with the chakras until now. I genuinely thought it was just me. If you are hesitating — DON’T.”
Jill — Student
An epiphany, all the way from Australia
After watching my free training on the chakras as lenses and battlefields rather than diagnoses, Kerry shared the ideas with friends at yoga.
She explained that perhaps our experiences and reactions aren't caused by blocked or imbalanced chakras. Perhaps something has happened to us on one of life's battlefields — Existence, Belonging, Fairness, Boundaries, Voice or Meaning.
Kerry described their response in her own words:
“So quite a few of us had [an] epiphany when I related your story.”

Your questions
Do I need previous philosophy or Sanskrit knowledge?
No. We begin with recognisable experiences and encounter the teachings in context. Bring your curiosity and questions.
Is this a yoga teacher-training qualification?
No. It is a substantial 25-hour CPD learning journey for yoga teachers. It does not provide an initial teaching qualification or a separate Teacher’s Path certification.
Will I need to change my teaching style?
You choose your language, physical practices and teaching style. The framework can inform hatha, vinyasa, yin, restorative, gentle and chair yoga, as well as one-to-one teaching.
Is The Teacher’s Path complete?
It is being added progressively, with the first resources being added from October 2026. It is included for all existing and future purchasers at no additional cost.
What are the certificate requirements?
The existing Kajabi requirements are 100% course completion and at least 80% on the final quiz. You may retake the quiz if needed. The Teacher CPD Record and Reflective Log provides space to document your study, reflections and additional learning. The 25-hour CPD figure is distinct from recorded playback time.
Are separate future courses included?
Ongoing additions to this existing course are included. Entirely separate future courses are not automatically included. The four seasonal packs are a separate, exclusive Founder benefit.
How long will I have access?
You have lifetime access, with no fixed completion deadline. Return to the learning as your understanding and teaching develop.
Can I use the PDFs with my students?
